Lecture

Armando Lucero currently resides in Los Angeles, California, USA. He has been performing magic for the past 30 years. He focuses on the art of close-up magic and is most known for his skill with cards and coins.

Few performers can capture an audience like Armando. Without saying a word, Armando grabs hold of the viewer’ s attention, and then takes their heart and mind on a journey of wonder. There is a bit of Marcel Marceau in this interesting man, and a bit of David Coppperfield. It is the little bit of Charlie Chaplin though, that will bring a smile to your face and will make your heart ache.

Watching a performance by Armando Lucero is a wonderful journey, for you are given extremes of the mind, the heart, and the spirit. When the spotlight shrinks to starlight, your inner child is rewarded, for you will have allowed yourself to be taken away by this man, and you believed – but how could you not? Armando is a commanding stage presence before ever saying a word.

He has held an interest in the arts for as long as he can remember, but it was while in high school in Southern California that Armando began studying the art of magic. He was invited to be a part of the legendary Long Beach Mystics, and studied there with some of the best magicians in the world. Armando held a belief though, that performing could be so much more, and while watching a mime troupe, he realized what a powerful tool his body could be. Working intensely, Armando studied the art of mime, and joined a troupe, traveling the state a year later. From there Armando has taken upon himself the desire to study anything that could assist him in connecting with the audience. “Even the use of light in a painting might suggest direction for my stage area”, he claims.

Armando Lucero has performed for the public and/or magicians worldwide, including such places as Austria, Japan, Holland, Belgium, New Zealand, Germany, Taiwan, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, UK, Korea, Monaco, France, China, Mexico and many more. In addition, he was invited to perform at “FISM”, a gathering of magicians from all over the world. Not only did he perform, but also the trade magazines raved about his performance. The same was true for the Las Vegas Magic Invitational –

Fechter’s (An invitation only, magic convention).

From 1994 to 2004 Armando worked in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, Luxor, Excalibur, Bellagio, Venetian, Aladdin, Hilton, MGM Grand, Orleans, Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, Rio, Riviera, Paris, Stratosphere, Treasure Island, Tropicana, Mirage, Hard Rock, Harrah’s, Palms, and New York-New York.

Armando has starred in productions such as “Mystique” and “Imagine”, both Dick Foster productions, and “Classic Enchantment”, Armando’s one-man show. He has also performed many times at the world famous “Magic Castle” in Hollywood, California, USA.

His reputation has made his pictures and stories featured in several magazines and newspapers, such as “Magic”, “Genii”, the L.A. Times, Reno Newspaper, and several others.

Since 2004 until present, Armando has appeared on television in the United States, Japan, Spain, and France.

In addition, his love of teaching inspired him to start giving Workshops in both the United States and abroad, on the “Art of Magic”, and has created several inventions such as portable and deployable folding structures, that have patents pending.

If the above isn’t enough, Armando writes and composes music and plays the guitar, recorder, and flute. He is also a computer programmer (c language), animation, and has created his own websites.
